                                                            Tuscarora RC Club Minutes

                                                            From December 5, 2016 meeting.

                                                            1 5  members were present.

President Walt Basiago called the meeting to order at 7:01 PM in the meeting room of the Tuscarora State Park Office.

Joe St Onge led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.

President Walt Basiago asked for the minutes to be read. The minutes from the November 2016 meeting were read. Joe St Onge made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Bernie Wargo second the motion.

Kathy Basiago gave the Treasurer's Report. Bernie Wargo made a motion to accept the treasurer's report as read. Jim Dunn seconded the motion.

Old Business

Raffle Prizes

Walt Basiago displayed the truck from Denise’s RC Outlet that will be raffled off. Walt donated the battery for the truck but was unable to find a battery charger. Bill Huegel said that he would look for some options. Walter from Walter’s Hardware said that we should come back after Christmas and he will be able to give that club a deal on the Quad Copter.

Elections

As it was voted at the November meeting that the 2016 officers would remain in office for 2017 there was no need for elections.

By Laws Change

Walt Basiago asked if anyone needed to vote on the change. Walt indicated that individual votes would not be read off but the votes would accessible to anyone who wished to inspect them. The vote count was 11 Yes and 12 No. Walt asked if anyone wanted to re-count the votes. No one did. The votes will be kept with all of the other club documents. After the count Walt expressed his opinion as No for the change as he didn’t believe in forcing people to do something in a hobby club. He asked that in the future when members are making a motion for change that they start their statement with for the good of the club.

Membership Cards

Membership cards were ordered. They are expected in the middle of December. 500 cards were ordered. They will be a universal card to include a place for sign off for members required to solo. This is estimated to be a 10 year supply at a cost of approximately $4.80 per year. A print out with the image of the card was passed around.

Laurel Mall Show

No dates have been set up as yet for the mall show.

New Business

Tickets for Aerorama

Walt Basiago indicated that a date needs to be selected in order to get tickets printed. He asked if Aerorama should be set up for a Saturday. Jim Dunn made a motion that Aerorama be held on a Saturday. Frank Bobick seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. Jim Dunn made a motion that a rain date be set up for Sunday. Dave Kessler seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous. August 12 & 13 were selected to hold Aerorama. Nancy Stevens asked if there were any other shows. Bill Huegel indicated that it was early. Jim Dunn added that the District Manager will tell us if there is other shows. Walt said we usually get local people. Walt asked Bill Huegel to help run the show. Bill accepted. Walt again explained that Walter from Walter’s Hardware is going to sell us a drone for a good price after Christmas once the new technology is out. Walt asked for suggestions on prize description for the prizes. It was suggested that the drone be described as "High Quality Quad Copter, Camera equipped with monitor. The description for the truck will be taken from the box.

Picnics

Picnics will be held on Saturday. We will try one in June then one in September. Frank Bobick made a motion for June 10. Bernie Wargo seconded the motion. Bill Huegel made a motion for September 16. Jim Dunn seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous on both motions.

Club Web Site

Ed Pollack submitted bills for the website. One bill was $50.32 which Ed is covering. The second bill was $142.25. Bill Huegel made a motion to pay the bill. Jim Dunn seconded the motion.

January 2017 Meeting

Frank Bobick made a motion to move the January meeting to January 3 for 2017 as New Year’s Day is on a Sunday many activities are moved to Monday. Jim Dunn seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous.

As there was no more business to be discussed, Bill Huegel made a motion to adjourn. Bernie Wargo seconded the motion. President Walt Basiago adjourned the meeting at 7:46 PM.
