Tuscarora RC Club Minutes
From May 2, 2016 meeting. 16 members were present.
President Walt Basiago called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM in the meeting room at the Tuscarora Park Office.
The members began the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance.
President Walt Basiago asked for the minutes to be read. The minutes from the April 2016 meeting were read. Tim Vincent made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Jim Dunn seconded the motion.
Kathy Basiago gave the Treasurer’s Report. John Majikas made a motion to accept the treasurer’s report as read. Bob Greenall seconded the motion. Nancy Stevens asked if there were any outstanding bills. There are none.
Walt Basiago acknowledge all the members who came out to the field for the work party. Thank You to Jim Dunn, John Kennedy, Dave Kessler, Nancy Stevens, Tim Vincent, Brad Yachimowski, and John Synoski. Work needed to be done was completed in no time. Walt Basiago indicated that the pressure treated wood reported purchased in the Treasurer's Report will be used to repair the sign and one table. He will make the repairs as he can. Walt also mentioned that he had gone to Lowe's for more paint. The paint formula was apparently made for a five gallon pail and could not be reformulate for one gallon. Joe St Onge indicated he had purchased a gallon at Walmart and still had the can. Joe will get the can to Walt.
Intro Pilot Program
Walt Basiago said that the members who had expressed interest in participating in the program at last month's meeting should have received their packets which included a new AMA membership card. Bob Greenall asked to be added to the program. Walt will submit his name.
There were three new members in attendance. Darryl Kissinger, John Synoski, and junior member Ian Powell. They were welcomed and given new membership packets.
Joe St Onge requested that the Park management be asked to do something about the holes in the parking lot at the field. Both Jim Dunn and Walt Basiago said in the past the Park had filled in the holes with stone. The Park will be asked about filling in the holes.
Civil Air Patrol in Hazleton
Brad Kachimowski said that the air patrol want to get into R/C flying once the Intro Pilot program is started. Walt Basiago and Jim Dunn said that with the receipt of the packets our program is started. Brad can make contact with the air patrol and begin training making sure to keep logs as indicated in the packet. Jim Dunn suggested that the instructors names be put on the website and posted at the field.
Joe St Onge advised the officers that Randy Grube had not received the mailing that went out in January of this year with raffle tickets. Tickets, newsletter, and schedule of events will be mailed out.
As there was no more business to be discussed, Tim Vincent made a motion to adjourn. Mark Wolfgang seconded the motion. President Walt Basiago adjourned the meeting at 7:30 PM.
