Tuscarora RC Club Minutes
From September 5, 2017 meeting. 15 members were present.
President Walt Basiago called the meeting to order at 7:05 PM in the meeting room of the Tuscarora State Park office.
Joe St Onge led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance.
President Walt Basiago asked for the minutes to be read. The minutes from the August 2017 meeting were read. Walt asked if there were any additions or corrections. Dave Kessler made a motion to accept the minutes as read. Jim Dunn second the motion.
Kathy Basiago gave the Treasurer's Report. Walt asked if there were any questions. There were none. Jim Dunn made a motion to accept the treasurer's report as read. Joe St Onge second the motion.
$127.00 profit was realized from the Aerorama. Walt Basiago thanked all who helped. The food left over will be enough for the club picnic on the 16th. Only buns and ice will need to be purchased. The winners of the raffle were first prize Mae Bittner and second prize Scott Whites grandsons.
Walt thanked Ed Pollack for the repairs he made to the lot. Walt reported that the field measures now between 260 and 288 feet. He will measure the field to include it in the contract for grass cutting. Using the contract signed for the current grass cutting Walt will update the measurements and include a new map of the field. contract.
Members are reminded to submit addresses of interested contacts to send bid requests to. In order to assist the new officers the plan is to send out letters in October indicating that bids are due by the December meeting. The letter to include the explanation that all bids will be held to January 2018 for review by the new officers. Joe St Onge suggested that to save money the parking lot be cut less often. Walt indicated that any new conditions to the grass cutting be discussed by the 2018 officers.
Dave Kessler said that he had seen a bag in the unit. The company has not said anything about garbage being left in the unit. The only thing that could be done if you see someone leaving garbage is to take down the license plate number and report the person to the park office for littering.
The second club picnic is September 16 weather permitting. We start at 9:00 AM. Sunday is the rain date.
John Kennedy reminded club members that when they have a problem with someone or something the member should contact one of the officers. This way the problem can be sorted out without causing additional issues. John also announced he will not be running for office in 2018. He stated that no matter who the officers are they should be contacted to resolve issues for the benefit of the club.
As there was no more business to be discussed, Tim Vincent made a motion to adjourn. President Walt Basiago adjourned the meeting at 7:33 PM.
